USC Getting The NCAA Hammer Today. No, Really. This Time It's True

We've been through this a number of times over the last few weeks, so I won't believe it until I see video of an actual press conference announcing it. Both ESPN Los Angeles and the LA Times say the NCAA will finally come down on USC today. Among the alleged sanctions are a 2-year bowl ban (now a big deal with all the expansion talk), a loss in scholarships (Lane Kiffin and recruiting extraordinaire Ed Orgeron will find a way around it), and having to vacate its wins from the season(s) in question (2004 at the very least). So, yes the NCAA does have some teeth. If these unnamed sources from both reports are correct, USC athletic director Mike Garrett should consider resigning because it is hard to imagine him keeping his job for much longer. Then again, this is the University of Spoiled Children, so different rules always apply.
